In 2017, Alexander, Beni, and Ross were still at university in Vienna when they heard that expensive power tools were stolen from Hilti construction sites. They built an IoT tracker to stop it. It worked – and Tyrolit became the first paying customer.
But once the equipment was connected, the real problem became visible. The whole facility management industry was running on paper, WhatsApp, Excel, Microsoft Forms, and dashboards no one opened. Anti-theft was a symptom. The disease was operations. And IoT – the thing that solved the symptom – turned out to be the key to fixing the disease underneath.
So we pivoted. From anti-theft to a horizontal asset management and maintenance platform across construction, FM, logistics, and hospitality. Our customers showed us where the gravity was: facility management had the strongest growth, the deepest product-market fit, the most expansive use case.
The platform grew with them – through ten purpose-built Hubs spanning asset management, robotics, fleet, safety, quality and SLAs, frontline tasks, and CAFM, plus a Cleaning Machine Database that ships customers furnished on day one, and a Service Network that connects OEMs, dealers, and operators on the same operational standard.
Today, ToolSense serves 200+ customers across 30+ countries – with GRO Capital, backing the next chapter.
